The Work

What Construction Work Involves

  • Assisting skilled workers with scaffolding, formwork, rebar, finishing or civil work
  • Preparing materials, tools and the work area
  • Following hazard-prediction (KY) and safety instructions every day
  • Keeping the site clean and organized

A typical shift: A site day starts with a morning meeting (朝礼) and stretching, then a hazard-prediction briefing. Work is physical and routine-driven, with safety checks throughout.

Safety & Workplace Culture
  • Helmets and full-body harnesses are required when working at height
  • KY (危険予知) hazard-prediction is done before every task

Japanese sites are tidy and tightly managed. Respect for rules, punctuality and clear communication with the foreman keep everyone safe.
